Michael Dunahee was 4 years old when he disappeared from a playground in Victoria, British Columbia. There were no witnesses. It was like Michael disappeared into thin air.

The Dunahee family was attending a flag football practise that Michael’s mother, Crystal was part of. He asked to go across the parking lot to play on the playground. At first, Crystal was hesitant but allowed him if only he stayed at the playground until someone had come get him. Withing minutes, Michael was gone and nobody saw anything, expect a van that appeared to be hanging out around the park. Michael was wearing a blue hooded jacket, a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles T-shirt, rugby pants and blue sneakers.

35 years later and Michael is still missing. There have been reports of Michael, but after DNA testing, nothing came up positive. In 2020, a ninja turtle t-shirt was found submerged in water, but Michael’s family confirmed that it wasn’t the same t-shirt that Michael was wearing.

Victoria detectives investigated known sex offenders and interviewed anyone who had been in the area around the time of Michael's disappearance but were unable to find much information except a witness report that "a man in his late 40s or early 50s" with a brown van was near the playground.

After all this time, the Dunahees want to bring Michael home. They have been missing their son for over three decades. It’s hard not knowing where your child is and if they are alive. Michael must have been scared on what was happening and didn’t understand.

So many people have different theories on what happened and who they think took Michael. He vanished from a public place where anyone was able to walk by and take him. People think it was the driver of the van that was seen at the park. Other people think it’s someone from the apartments that were close to where Micheal was.

Michael would be 40 years old in May. We will always keep Michael in our thoughts and hope that he comes home.
