Journaling vs. Blogging

People write for various reasons. Some will write in a journal because they want to keep their thoughts to themselves. Other people blog because they want to be able to share their experiences and be there for other people who may be going through the same things as they are. No matter how or where you write, its a good habit to get into.

Writing is a way for people who have a hard time being able to say things verbally. I don’t like talking especially on the phone and in situations where I don’t know people. Writing has always been there for me. I’ve tried to journal, but I just never got past the first couple of entries. Being able to write for an audience is what motivates me to write. I never know whose life I’m going to inspire.

Some people have the knack for keeping a journal and they can keep one for years. I’ve seen people with stacks of notebooks they’ve used and they date back to when they were kids. I honestly wouldn’t know what I would do with the journals after I’ve filled them up. I can buy notebooks and journals, but I never know what to use them for.

Blogging as always been more natural for me. When I started my blogging in 2009, I knew that it was something I wanted to do and keep doing for as long as I can. I like to believe that somewhere, someone is reading and takes something away from it. It’s going to take one blog entry at a time to get to where I want my blog to go, but I just have to keep working at it. Blogging is good if you want to be a writer like me. I want to be able to share my stories with the world so blogging i a good way for me to do that, but it’s different for everyone. If you want to write just for yourself then journaling may be something to look into.

It’s going to take a few days to get into the habit of writing constantly especially if you are doing it with a purpose, but keep in mind that your doing it for you. Don’t let negativity and people tell you either wise. If journaling and blogging is something you want to do then go for it. Write with passion and with pride.
