The beginning of a new year is always exciting, but it can also be a time where people look back on the past year and wonder where the time went and wonder if there’s a way to slow it down. As we get older and look over the past, we tell ourselves if we can make the new year our best year yet. No two years are the same. We go in with an open mind, but as the days and months go on, life throws us a curveball, something we don’t expect.

People take the new year as a challenge to better themselves. They move on from something that they never want to experience again. They want to leave things in the past. They make a promise to never go back even if it means hurting the people that mean the most to them. You have the right to treat yourself with respect. You deserve to walk away from the negativity. You deserve what matters to you.

The good thing about starting fresh is that you don’t know who you’re going to be and where you’re end up. Each year is a different journey. Each year brings you something that you never thought possible. You decide where the road leads you. You can make a difference on how the year ends. You will be a completely different person by this time next year all because of the choices you made and the challenges you faced.

No matter how the year starts, by the end, its going to look nothing like how you thought it would. So many changes are going to happen, you will discover new things, you will find how strong you are not just physically, but mentally. You will push yourself to new limits and conquer your fears.

Go into the new year with the knowledge that you can make the year into anything you want. Live those dreams, stand up for yourself, speak up. Don’t back down. Focus on yourself. Don’t let fear bring you down. Be the person you always wanted to be.
