Playing By The Rules

I follow the rules. If you tell me not to do something, I won’t do it. Depending on the situation, I may tweak the rules to make it work, but if you know me, you know that I am by the book. If the rules aren’t being followed, I feel guilty about it, especially if it will affect me later on, but sometimes I think breaking them once in a while could be a good thing. It could help you or someone else.
Driving is a good example in following the rules. They are there for a reason because if we didn’t have them, we would be in danger and nobody would make it out alive. You are in control of a tin can on wheels and its up to you as the driver to know how to navigate it on the road while thinking about the people around you and making sure they are safe. There is no room for error.
Even in school, I made sure that if the teacher wanted a specific thing to be done for an assignment or a project, there was a chance that I was going to do what the teacher wanted to be done.
We don’t want to cause problems so following rules makes sure that everything goes according to plan. There have been times when if they weren’t being followed, I would get upset because I felt that there were rules for a reason and they were meant to be followed, but I’ve learnt that as long as I did my own thing and just worried about me, whatever happens to that person who broke the rules will come face to face with karma.
I’m a rule follower. I can’t help it. It’s always been in me.
