With everything that’s been going on in the world; it would be nice to see some good. We can only do so much, but as a community and as the world, we can change one thing at a time and hope that has a domino affect.
We can protest, lead marches and sit in at rallies, but what does that really show. We can only say so much with the same 3 or 4 tactics over and over again. When will someone take action and learn that what we want is to see change, but as the past as shown us, its going to take time. It could take years to get our voices heard, but that is still years to late. How many more people will be affected by what’s been going on? Leaders and public figures don’t listen and it makes them look bad.
Talking about changing the world is fine, if you like the sound of your own voice, but if you want to make a difference, start off by paying it forward. If you help someone like holding the door open or paying for someone’s coffee then that person will do the same for someone else and it will snowball from there. It may be a small gesture, but it does go a long way.
We don’t need to start HUGE right away because we’re going to get overwhelmed real fast and burn out, but it should start small and let it grow from there. A lot of the time when something happens, like a shooting or some sort of act where there are a number of people are injured, the person who did the tragedy is someone who comes from place where they feel like they are alone and they need to make themselves known or they feel like they can’t be who they are because of how they are treated at home and by their peers.
In this world, I want people to be able to stand up for themselves without being judged. They need the courage to be themselves. No more hate, more acceptance. No more harsh words without knowing the whole story. More respect, no judgment and more love. I challenge you to do an act of kindness. Compliment someone, encourage someone, reach out to someone if they are going through something. You don't know what's going on inside of their world. It may be small to you, but it means the world to someone else. You may save a life.
We have to be nice to the people around us, we need to bring people up and not tear them down. You don't a person's story. They don't need to be criticized or judged. One some thing can go a long way. Say hi and smile as you're walking by someone. They may need it. It would make they day. Inspire others, be a friend, learn to listen, treat others that way you want to be treated. We have to learn how to love ourselves before we are ale to love one another.
