Being a fan of the show for as long as I have, I’ve seen and heard some crazy storylines that people come up with and to be honest, after all these years, I don’t think any of those storylines are going to actually happen. They believe that if characters are good together then they deserve their own storyline.
I have strong feelings for people who are convinced that Buddie is going to happen. Since Eddie joined the 118 in season 2, fans of the show are trying to get Eddie to admit he has feelings for Buck. This goes back to the first year of working together, Eddie made Buck his son’s legal guardian if anything were to happen to him.
When Buck started to date Tommy, people wanted Eddie to come out and confess his feelings and have them start dating. Buck finally discovered who he was and people assumed that Eddie would come to the realization that seeing Buck started to figure himself out that Eddie would discover something about himself and admitted to himself that he too felt the same way.
Tommy called Eddie “the competition” when it came to the possibly of Tommy and Buck getting back together. Buddie fans were going off the rails when Tommy bought that up because someone finally admitted that there was something going on between Buck and Eddie. People are so determined to make something happen that will never happen.
Buddie fans started to appear as soon as Tommy and Buck got together. They were saying Tommy was a bad boyfriend, wasn’t good for Buck, etc, but they keep forgetting that Eddie’s messed up a few times and he comes off as the bad guy in those situations.
There’s been no indication that Buddie is a storyline and people are being vocal about it on social media. They want to be able to get such a fandom that people on 911 would see it as a sign to make them a couple even though by this point in the show, it would be too late since that ship had sailed. They come with these crazy theories and hope that the show runners will see them and get ideas for future storylines.
Now that Buck is fostering Theo, there are million theories that he’s going to rely on Eddie for parenting advice, which is going to bring them closer and potentially start dating, but out of everyone who's a parent on the show, Eddie is the last person he should go to for parental advice.
Anytime someone mentions Buddie, they will go into these deep dives and rabbit holes on why they think it's going to happen and that as long as Tommy doesn’t show up then it will make room for Eddie to realize he wants to be with Buck. Whenever the cast gets asked about Buddie, they don’t really say much because they either can’t say anything or they don’t know.
People were having a field day when Someone asked about Tommy and Buck and Oliver Stark had no idea that BuckTommy were as popular as they were and Buddie shippers were excited that he didn’t acknowledge the popularity of the relationship. They think that Oliver didn’t care about the storyline and he was just doing it for the show and the paycheck. They will come up with anything to make people not like Tommy. They will come up with anything to make Tommy look like some guy who hooked up with Buck just for the sake of it. Eddie’s not that perfect himself. He’s done and said things himself.
There’s so much hate towards Tommy and Lou that they are willing to not watch anything that Lou’s in since all they see is Tommy. It's gone so far as people sending Lou Ferrigno Jr hate messages and convincing themselves that he’s just like Tommy and that he’s all of these things, but they have no proof what they’ve said that Lou has done and said, but Ryan Guzman is known to have said several things in live streams and on instagram and people think that he’s this perfect guy. I hate seeing Lou being put in the middle of it. He doesn’t deserve all the hate he gets.
I don’t see Buddie ever happening because too much has passed. If the writers wanted it to happen, it would have happened by now.
