Why I Think Buck and Eddie Aren't Together?

I understand that people want Eddie and Buck to be together because of how close they are and the fact that Buck is the legal guardian of Christopher if anything were to happen to Eddie. It does seem like a good idea since they’re best friends, but how often does that work? Getting together with your best friend is a disaster waiting to happen.

I believe that Eddie needs to work on his mental health before getting into any type of relationship. He has PTSD from being in the service, he is still dealing with the loss of Shannon hence why he was going after someone that looked just like her and because of that, he traumatized his son, making him think his mom was alive.

Eddie needs to focus on himself and his relationship with Christopher. If he really loves his son and wants him to feel comfortable coming home then he needs to realize that he needs to work on what he already has and not something like a new relationship no matter how right it feels. Christopher probably already feels like he’s second place whenever Eddie is in a relationship.

He needs to grow and mature and figure out who he is as a person and what it means and what it takes to be in a healthily relationship, either in his personal life or in a romantic one. Christoper trusted Eddie and now that trust is gone. Eddie needs to work on getting that trust back because he’s not the same person his son knew. He lost that respect.

Buck is someone who is still trying to figure out who he is. His whole world flipped upside down when he met Tommy, and he wants to work on himself while trying to navigate his relationship with him.

Tommy is being patient with Buck knowing that this is the first gay relationship that Buck’s ever been in and he’s helping him by taking his time and just being there for Buck. He doesn’t want to rush into things and make Buck feel uncomfortable. It’s a one day at a time, taking it step by step type of relationship.

I feel like if it was Eddie and Buck. It would go too fast too soon and it’s not going to end well. Just because two people fit well together doesn’t necessarily mean that they will make good partners. You will be putting everything on the line. You are risking losing something that you never thought you’ll lose.

If Buddie got together, they would lose everything they’ve worked on since they’ve met. Would they really risk losing a best friend because they couldn’t make it work as a couple?

Regardless of how you feel about Buddie, just know that Buck is happy with Tommy. He’s the reason Buck discovered who he was. Let’s be supportive and let Buck figure things out.
