Since the breakup, everyone wanted to see Buck finally be happy. We wanted to know that Buck was taking care of himself. We wanted make sure that he was doing what he could to make himself happy.

When it finally happen that Tommy came back, we knew that Buck was going to what he could to make sure that he didn’t screw it up, but of course in true Buck fashion, he had to say something that once again showed that he jeopardizes the good things in life.

He finally felt like his life was back on track after dealing with the loss of Eddie, but as Tommy hinted, he felt that now that Eddie was out of the picture, Buck was able to focus on him and the relationship, but of course Buck just had to be Buck and sacrifice the one thing in his life that seemed to be getting better.

Seeing Tommy wasn’t part of the plan, but I feel like it was something that needed to be done. Buck was spiraling and being able to see Tommy in person really put the whole thing in perspective. He wanted a fresh start, but in a way, he wanted to change the things that had put the relationship on hold. He realized that what he said in the past was in the moment and he wanted this chance to make it right by taking it slow. He wanted to show Tommy that he was serious and that this was something that he wanted, but because Buck doesn’t think before he speaks, he said something that made Tommy realize that Buck wasn’t as serious as he thought he was. It was clear Tommy wanted more, but Buck had to take what Tommy meant and make it seem that there was no feelings even when you know that Buck wanted it to work as much as Tommy.

Buck feels alone. Everyone seems to be leaving him, and he wanted something that was safe and comfortable even if it meant hooking up with Tommy for just one night. He needs to be able to be at peace with himself.

Whatever happens with Buck and Tommy, I hope that they can remain in each other’s lives, either as friends or partners. We know that Buck needs to find someone in his life that is willing to understand him and help keep him grounded.
