Does Twin Telepathy Work?

Twin telepathy is considered to be a myth with no scientific evidence that it exists. Twins who grew up closer will be able to share similar experiences since they were raised in similar environments. They also are able to pick up on expressions and body language and learn each other’s habits due to always being around each other and being so close with each other.

Personalities of twins can also be similar to the point where they share the same thought or finish each other’s sentences. Twins may develop a sixth sense, but who doesn't have that when it comes to certain situations. If any set of siblings were close, they would develop a twin-like bond to the point where they start to think alike. 

Not every set of twins will have something like twin telepathy. There are twins who don’t like being a twin at all and they rather not embrace that part of themselves no matter how obvious it is that their twins. They develop resentment for each other since everyone compares them to their twin or they spend so much time trying to outdo each other because they are always getting compared. 

Then you get twins that are too close to the point where they can’t do anything without each other. In those cases, it seems like twin telepathy is happening because they come off as one person so everything they do seems like it’s a twin bond, but it's co-dependency. 

It also depends if you're identical or fraternal. Identical twins seem to be closer than fraternal twins because fraternal twins are essentially two regular siblings that just happen to be born at the same time, but identical twins share a lot more. 

Anyone can have that twin telepathy if they are close enough with someone. People in long term relationships can develop “twin telepathy." They can sense when something is wrong by the way their partner is acting or the way they say something. Anything that seems out of character. I think twin telepathy is just how well you know someone. You share everything with someone. At some point in your life, you will know someone well enough that you don’t need words to be able to communicate with your partner. 

I don’t think twin telepathy is really something that exists. It's something that happens when two people have a close relationship. Twins can be the complete opposite and not have any contact with each other whereas siblings who are years apart can have a bond and still have a sense of what’s going on without saying a word. 

People want to think that twins are mysterious and have super powers, but in reality, they are people who just happened to be born at the same time.
