Setting goals for any reasons is hard especially if you’ve failed in the past, but that shouldn’t stop you from trying. Use the past year as inspiration for the new year. The things you didn’t get to do, carry them over into next year. There is no need to keep coming up with new goals every year. It’s okay to recycle the ones you’ve made. If there is a goal you enjoyed, do it again. If there is one you didn’t like, throw it out. There’s no need to start fresh when you feel like your goals aren’t going to take you anywhere.

Goals are meant to help you achieve and become a better person. It can be journaling, going for daily walks, taking the time to read. No matter how big or small something is, you as long as you try. If something doesn’t work, change it. Take one step at a time and see where you takes you.

Don’t compare yourself to other people. You don’t know what does on at home. They are creating goals that fit them and suit their lifestyle. If your self-conscious about what other people think then that can be a goal. Learn to let things go. I know it sounds scary, but there are going to be people you meet for less than 5 minutes that aren’t going to remember a word that you’ve said. There’s no need to stress about if you said the wrong thing. Don’t overthink it.

Create goals that are achievable. As much as we love to dream big and do great things, we can only do so much with the time we have and the things we can do. If your nervous, start small and work yourself up. Do what you can with what you have. You can always help others with their goals, especially if it involves fitness. If they are looking for someone to go on walks with, volunteer and keep them company. Maybe your goal can be helping others.

Setting goals isn’t something that needs to happen, but people like to be able to work towards something. Some people just need to keep busy so they make goals, but you find that sometimes it doesn’t work for you then you don’t need to do them, but if you’re up for a challenge, use the new year as a fresh start.

That’s what the new year is all about, you never know who you’re going to by the end of it. You can be a different person all because you took the time to help yourself.
