When people ask me why I write about mental health and addiction, I tell them it’s because of Matthew Perry. He inspired me to learn more about mental health and addiction. He inspired me to wanting to help people who are struggling. I want to continue telling his story, be his voice. Matthew’s journey with addiction and what he went through is a story I want to keep telling.

Everybody’s struggle with mental health and addiction is different but going on that journey to recovery is something everyone wants to have. If I can be that safe space for someone who wants to go on that journey then I’ll be there for them. If my blog can inspire and encourage someone to get help then I know that I’m doing something good.

I want to help in any way I can and if I can educate myself in mental health and addiction then I can be a stronger advocate for those who don’t have a voice. I want to stand up for those who can’t. I want be an ally, be a supporter. I want to bring awareness and let people know that they are not alone. They have a community that will help them in any way that they can. There is someone in the world that knows exactly what they are going through. There is no shame in getting help.

I hope that my blog helped someone on their journey to recovery and sobriety. I want people to reach out and know that they can be open and honest, that they can have someone they can trust and know that there’s no judgment. I’m there to listen.
