Would I Work At Disneyland?

With all the love I have for anything Disney, you would think that working at Disneyland would be the perfect job. Possibly a dream job. Over the years, I have thought about if working at the wonderful world of Disney would be a good fit. On one hand, I would be able to meet people who share a love of Disney, but on the other hand, it would become just a job and not a passion. After a while, the novelty of working there would go away and I would dread being there because the magic that comes with being at Disney would go away.

I save up for months, sometimes years to be able to travel to Disneyland and every time I go to Disney, it feels like the first time. I don’t ever want to lose that feeling. I always want to be a kid when I walk through the gate and see Sleeping Beauty’s castle at the end of Main Street. I want to be able to ride my favourite rides like it's my first time. Each trip is different because you never know what’s going to happen. Going to Disneyland is my way of escaping reality. It's a place where I know I can be myself and not feel judged because people are there for the same reason as me.

There are people who are meant to be at cast members at Disney, but for me, Disneyland is my home away from home and working at Disneyland would not that same feeling for me. I rather be there as a guest and not have the feeling of being at work when I’m on the Haunted Mansion. I want it to be special. I want to be able to pretend and not have to worry about life. I want to keep the magic and not look behind the curtain.
